Baruten Medical Outreach (BMO) 2021 is the maiden edition of an annual outreach organized by Raphasent Medical Mission. It was held on the 19th to 21st of August, 2021 at Shiya and Boriya (Okuta district) of Baruten local government, Kwara State.

Fourteen medical and non-medical volunteers participated, supported by indigenous workers who
served as interpreters and provided logistic support. A total of 26 free surgical procedures were
carried out, and 305 medical consultations with treatment was done. One hundred and five had consultation and treatment for various complaints on the first day in Boriya, while
200 more were seen on the last two days in Shiya.

The Gospel
Every available opportunity was seized to emphasize that all we did was based on Christ’s eternal love. Each day was started by addressing the people and telling them of how much Christ love them. Gospel film was projected each night. Brethren were on the lookout for opportunity to present the gospel or at least to establish a relationship for further conversations One person made a fresh decision for Jesus while another rededicated his life to Christ. The children were not left out as eleven of them made decisions for Christ during the children evangelism. All the 26 that had free surgeries and the 305 that had free consultations/treatment remained potential disciples of Christ. Our prayer is that the seed sown will germinate unto eternity.

The brethren
The volunteers were not only channels of blessing to others but were also blessed. It was a time of
spiritual refreshing for them all. Each day was started and ended with uplifting sessions of worship and life-changing teachings of the Word.

The Challenges
The bus that was graciously released to us by the Church of God met the need of conveying participants and loads to and fro the mission field. It however drained a lot of our energy and time as we had to stop several times to repair it due to its old condition. In fact we arrived 7 hours later than scheduled at arrival, while some brethren slept on the road at departure. We had lots of medical and welfare equipment to carry to the field that it was difficult transporting all we needed in the bus along with the brethren.
The Need
 Provision of a dependable 18-seater bus towards subsequent outreaches
 Provision of a truck to carry medical equipment, supplies and welfare materials.
Appreciation
All glory goes to God for the success of this outreach. We experienced divine possibilities. The Lord
preserved us in all our journeys before and during the outreach, both in the day and night. An estimated 1.9 million naira (4,616 USD) was expended on this outreach. All these happened also because you prayed, you gave and supported us. THANK YOU!
